Hi, I'm Lynda
I am an experienced registered yoga teacher at the 500 level (E-RYT 500) currently based on the west coast. I've been supporting people with their self-care and wellness journeys for the past 15+ years.
As a professional dancer for many years with numerous renowned companies, I have always loved all types of movement and fitness. I was drawn to yoga for the positive balancing physical benefits and became more and more curious about exploring the internal mind/spirit aspects during my 20 years as a practitioner. This curiosity lead me to dive deeper and complete my 200-hour certification with Prana Yoga Teacher’s College, my 500-hour certification with the Zenyasa Yoga & Wellness Studio, a 108-hour Anatomy Studies for Yoga Teachers with Jason Ray Brown, my pre-natal certification with Carrie Parker Gastelu, and a 100-hour Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training with Jillian Pransky, diving into the practices of restorative and adaptive yoga. I am also a Gyrokinesis® Trainer and a facilitator of Social Presencing Theater (SPT), a mindful movement form utilizing embodied presence practices for personal and collective creative transformation. In addition, I bring to my teaching my 25+ years of movement experience, knowledge of the body, and injury prevention. I continue to explore and expand my knowledge and understanding with the study of mindfulness meditation, nutrition, brain-based therapies, and the healing qualities of nature.
I've been a trusted wellness presenter for places in New York City such as Fordham University, Yeshiva University, Adelphi University, Bronx-Lebanon Hospital, NYU Langone Hospital, James J. Peters VA Medical Center, and Samaritan Village. In Canada, I've presented at Nunavut Arctic College for the professional development conference, Ilinniaqatigiigajuarniq (Continuing to learn together).
In teaching yoga and movement practices, I aim to infuse students with the joys of living in their bodies with deeper nuanced awareness, abundant kindness, and compassionate connection. And I highly encourage this infusion to overflow and seep into the world to benefit people and planet!
